“We went into Monnow Valley and recorded some demos there first. I Like
Monnow Valley. I like the way the studio is set up and the big rehearsal room -
we loved rehearsing in there. It was cool. Staying at Monnow Valley, you’re living
and breathing what you do in creating an album.”

“I loved the drum sound in the studio. Of all the places I’ve recorded in, this
was the one that I’ve felt most comfortable playing in. It’s just a massive
room. And for our band we wanted a big drum sound. The bigger the better! And we
did get the massive drum sound we wanted! Now whenever I listen back to it, I
think it’s amazing. Proper John Bonham big drums.
Overall, I loved Monnow Valley. It was a beautiful part of the country and
whenever we had the chance we were out fishing as soon as we finished up at 8
o’clock at night. We’d be out in the summer evenings, in the countryside,
fishing, drinking beers and having a laugh. I’d love to go back there.”
